A cinematic mosaic of San Franciscans: weird, messy, beautiful and resilient.
Just like their city.
A city long defined by reinvention, this documentary follows a year in the life of San Francisco as it attempts to find its footing after an era of turmoil and tough headlines. Told through the voices of everyday residents; a homeless advocate, a Muni driver, artists, event-goers, and the people who quietly honor the unclaimed, the film pieces together a living mosaic of hope, grit and community.
Through festivals, rituals and the rhythm of city life, it reveals a side of San Francisco rarely seen in the news. A city that is rebuilding, reimagining, and, like the phoenix immortalized on its city flag, rising once again.
The soundtrack for the film comes from local musicians and groups that were formed in San Francisco:
The documentary also features videos, drone shots, photography, and music by many of the Bay Area’s most talented local artists.
